Lately, there’s been quite a bit of talk about anxiety and depression- and for good reason. Even before this pandemic, a 2017 study found over 71% of people who experienced depression also experienced anxiety, and these can be rooted from many various sources. Especially in our current situation, our social connections and expectations of the future have been disrupted, our anxiety (worry/fear about the future) and depression (a feeling of heaviness or sadness, can be centered around a past event) are heightened. The two can often come in a cycle, one feeling triggering the other, and so on. If you are feeling one or both of these for the first time, or more than before, you are not alone. The good news, is we can help take control with diet, better habits and more! // Read More…
Read moreThe Ultimate Guide to the Best Holistic Nutrition Schools
I think one of the biggest questions I get from people is about what nutrition school to attend and how to run a successful private practice business. I thought I would write a blog post first about picking a nutrition school. Also, (and admittedly, a bit selfishly) I see a lot of misinformation out there, especially on Instagram and I wanted to clear some of it up.

Did you know Forbes said that only 8% of people actually attain their new years resolutions?!?!
8%!!!
Wow!
Instead of resolutions, here’s what I am having a few clients do and what I myself am doing: taking stock of what’s going on in my life, maybe that includes how 2018 went (good and/or not so) and moving forward from there.

Are you as excited that it’s fall as I am? Don’t get me wrong, I love summer too. Hello?!? You’re talking about a native So. Cal. girl here. But ever since I moved to Colorado over 4 years ago, I’ve really been digging ALL the seasons.

My health and wellness journey started before I even knew it, as it does for so many. So grab a cup of tea or bulletproof coffee and settle in.
I grew up with a very nurturing mom who was a high school health teacher, professional tennis coach, sports medicine master, and legit Boston Marathon Qualifier. We lived in the desert mountains above the Coachella Valley, in Southern California. As a young child, I remember going on long hikes with my mom and our dogs and learning about different plants and herbs that were native to our local desert. We would gather a few and take them home and drink some as tea and add others to the food we ate. It was a wonderful way to grow up and at the time I didn’t even realize it!
My next realization came when I was an adult. I made a conscious decision to stop taking birth control after 12 years of use. As a result, horrible acne started appearing on my face at the age of 28. I wasn’t in my teens anymore, why was I having such horrible acne? I went to some of the best estheticians in Los Angeles, I worked out most days of the week, I took all the supplements I thought I should, I ate a pretty clean and healthy diet, I even did juice cleanses! So what was going wrong? I also went to see a naturopath doctor, got some blood work and did a serious elimination diet. The acne got a little better but still nothing was completely clearing up my face.
