"Food is not just fuel. Food is about family, food is about community, food is about identity. And we nourish all those things when we eat well." - Michael Pollan
The end of the year and the holidays can be a wonderful and stressful time of year. No matter what your plans are or aren't this week, who you are or are not with, what foods you will or won't be eating, might I strongly suggest you do three things:
Be grateful for something every day this week. Maybe even try doing it the rest of the year, or more!? The physical act of writing something it down actively engages your brain and helps solidify information in your mind rather than passively thinking about it. But do what you can here!
Take some extra time for you and rest. Schedule it on your calendar, even if its just 5 minutes!
Enjoy what you eat, no matter what it is! Be present, mindful, and curious and enjoy it with all your senses, the entire experience of the meal, food, drink, music, company, and more! No guilt, shame or feeling like you have to "work it off" here! Food is more than nutrition. It’s also a time for community and love!
